“Love eventually”

As a single girl in her twenties, I can honestly say I’m not looking for love right now.
Love will eventually – hopefully – happen to me again, but for now HERE is to FRIENDS on Valentine’s Day. Love the friends you’ve got because they come in handy on days like today. I definitely do not feel lonely, or regret being alone. I embrace my single-girl-time and love my friends dearly…regardless of the holiday.

Today I found this in my mailbox:

…enough said.

Happy Valentine’s Day lovelies!

SO true! I have never understood those who hate valentines. It is not about gifts, flowers, jewelry, chocolate, and most importantly, not JUST about a significant others. It is a day dedicated to those who are important in your life, no matter who they are, whether its family, friends, bf/gf, or spouse. I grew up in a house that was all about valentines day. As my dad’s favourite holiday, it wasn’t just about my parents relationship, but our love as a family. It is a day dedicate to telling all those you love in your life why they are important to you and why you can’t imagine your life without them in it. What is so bad about that? With the way our world is becoming, i personally think one day is NOT enough. I have always told every boyfriend I have, you don’t need to buy me anything extravagant. Buy me a card for 5 dollars, or write me a letter. Write me how you feel about me and why. Because we don’t say it enough, ever.
So, as one of the people in my life that I love, I wanted to say happy valentines day friend. xo

Thanks Mare!! You are so right! I love the VDAY RANT! I agree with all of the above, and like I just told my mom who commented prior to you on this post my dad text me at 530am to tell me he loves me and my mom soon followed after that. Both of them woke me up but it’s nice to know they care, and are thinking about me when I’m so far away.

Love you Mary-Anne Have a wonderful Valentine’s DAY!

    Happy Valentine’s Day.
    Love Mom!

This post should have included FAMILY love. Both Dad, and YOU messaged me this morning. Dad at 5 30am! ARGH! It woke me up, and you a little later at least.

      Love you both!

  3. Cammie says:

    love you friend!

  4. Lillian says:

I agree with Emilia. These are the best years of your life…..enjoy them without being tied down or having to answer to anyone but yourself (maybe mom and dad on occasion). Buy yourself a box of chocolates and count your blessings! Love Aunt Lil

  5. That is so very sweet and thoughtful of Christina. As someone else said it isn’t the extravagance that counts but the thought and sentiment behind it.

I like your profile picture by the way, you look like someone who enjoys a cocktail or three…!

    • Dee says:

It was very thoughtful of her…and goes to show that it is more than okay to love your friends as if they are your family! They are the ones who tell you the truth without inhibition, even when you don’t want to hear it. AND love you regardless of your flaws. That is true friendship.

P.S. I love cocktail hour…and night caps for that matter.

  7. Dad says:

Enjoy life and the loving friends you have today. Valentines Day is for all of us whether we have a spouse, girlfriend / boyfriend, it is a time to love life.
